Approved Air Cyber Security

Approved Air Cyber Security

Approved Air has just achieved Cyber Essentials (Basic) certification, and we wanted to give them a quick shout-out.

Cyber Essentials isn’t glamorous. There’s no AI-powered threat detection or fancy dashboards involved. It’s about proving the boring stuff is actually in place: devices are patched, passwords aren’t a mess, access is locked down properly, and someone’s actually paying attention to it all.

The thing is, most security incidents don’t happen because a business lacked some cutting-edge solution. They happen because a Windows update got ignored for six months, or everyone in the office uses the same password, or an old user account was never disabled. Cyber Essentials forces you to deal with exactly that kind of thing.

For Approved Air, this means their core systems are protected, users and devices are managed properly, and security is being treated as part of how they operate rather than something they’ll “get around to eventually.” That’s a genuine shift from how a lot of businesses approach it.

We’re big believers that good security is layered. Cyber Essentials isn’t the end goal—it’s the foundation you build everything else on. Get the basics right first, then add complexity where it’s needed.

Credit to the Approved Air team for taking it seriously and engaging properly with the process. It’s a solid step forward.
